Sandeep Prabhakar's passion for cricket started at a very young age when he held the first bat in his hands. His passion only intensified further when he started playing for his father's office team at the mere age of 12, making him the youngest player on the team.  People were always surprised and shocked to know that Sandeep had never learned cricket  from a certified coach or even attended an academy to learn how to play; instead he was a self-taught player.

His dedication to cricket heightened further when he got selected for his school cricket team at the mere age of 14, making him the youngest player to be ever selected for a school cricket team.  His commitment to the sport and the team gave him the opportunity to be named the youngest Captain of the cricket squad.  His successful rein as Captain is still remembered today as he holds the record for 8 wickets for 8 runs with a double hat-trick and 8 wickets for 12 runs with another double hat-trick.  He remained Captain of the cricket squad until his High School graduation, making him the longest running Captain of his school.

He continued to follow cricket through College and played for various cricket clubs and was also selected for the Under-19 Bengal Team.  His devotion to cricket continued throughout his life, even when he moved to Canada for a new and brighter future. He maintained his reign of playing and captaining the local club by winning multiple tournaments.
